Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Elmenta Consulting (“we”), Nairobi, Kenya, collects and uses personal data through this website, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. Last updated: 14 October 2026. Contact: info@elmentaconsulting.com.

What we collect

  • Course registrations: your name, email address, country, professional role and, where you provide them, phone or WhatsApp number, organisation and notes, plus the course and cohort you chose.
  • Mentorship applications: the details above plus your goals, experience and, for laboratory teams, the institution, laboratory type, team size and accreditation status.
  • Contact enquiries: your name, email address, optional phone number and organisation, and your message.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
  • Payments: invoices, payment records and any proof of payment you send us.
  • Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, used only to block spam and repeated submissions.

Why we use it

  • To process your registration, application or enquiry and reply to you (to take steps to enter into a contract with you).
  • To send invoices, receipts, joining instructions and reminders, and to run the course or mentorship you booked (to perform our contract).
  • To keep financial records required by Kenyan law (legal obligation).
  • To protect the website from abuse (legitimate interests).
  • To send news about future courses, only if you ticked the marketing box or subscribed (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who sees it

Only authorised Elmenta staff can view registration, application and enquiry records. We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our training: our web hosting and email providers, Zoom for live online sessions, and your bank or M-Pesa when you make a payment. Some of these providers may store data outside Kenya; where they do, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

Registration, mentorship and enquiry records are deleted automatically two years after submission. Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as Kenyan tax law requires. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask to be informed about how your data is used, to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use and to withdraw consent. Email info@elmentaconsulting.com and quote your reference if you have one. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Security

The website uses HTTPS, records are kept in password-protected systems available only to staff who need them, and forms carry spam and abuse protection.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses only the cookies it needs to work. If we enable Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, it will set analytics cookies; those reports are aggregated and never include your name, email address, phone number or form answers. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
