Enrollment Terms

These terms apply to registrations for Elmenta Consulting courses, delivered in person in Nairobi, live online or in-house, and to Elmenta Lab Pro and Lab Team mentorship. By submitting a registration or application you agree to them. Last updated: 14 October 2026.

Registration

Submitting the registration form is a request for a place on a course. It is not a confirmed booking. We review each request and reply by email, normally within one business day, with a pro forma invoice and the next steps.

Fees and payment

  • Course fees are shown per participant in the stated currency (US dollars) and are not converted.
  • Payment is due by bank transfer or M-Pesa at least seven days before the course starts. Bank and transfer charges are paid by the participant or their organisation.
  • Your place is secured only when payment is received. Seats are allocated in the order payments arrive, and a receipt is sent for every payment.
  • No payment is taken on this website.

What the fee includes

What each fee covers is listed under “The fee includes” on the course page, for example training materials, refreshments on in-person days, the certificate of completion and, for quarterly courses, the first month of Elmenta Lab Pro mentorship. Travel and accommodation are not included unless the course page says so (the Biorisk, Biosafety and Biosecurity course includes accommodation and airport transfer where applicable).

Cohort size

Each cohort runs with 5 to 30 participants. If fewer than 5 participants have paid 10 days before the start date, we may postpone the cohort. We will tell you at least 7 days before the start date and you can choose a free transfer to the next cohort or a full refund of fees paid.

Cancellations by you

Tell us in writing at info@elmentaconsulting.com, quoting your registration reference.

  • 14 days or more before the start date: full refund (less bank charges) or a free transfer.
  • 7 to 13 days before the start date: 50% refund, or a free transfer to a cohort starting within 12 months.
  • Less than 7 days before the start date, or not attending: no refund, but you may send a substitute or transfer once to a cohort starting within 12 months at no extra fee.

Substitutions and transfers

You may send a substitute participant at no charge at any time before the course starts. Send us their name and email address. One transfer to another cohort of the same course, or to a different course, is allowed within 12 months; any difference in fee is payable before the new course starts.

Changes by Elmenta

If we have to postpone or cancel a cohort we will tell registered participants promptly and offer a transfer to the next available cohort or a full refund of fees already paid. We are not responsible for travel or accommodation costs you have booked, so please do not book non-refundable travel until you have received your joining instructions.

Attendance and certificates

A certificate of completion is issued to participants who attend at least 80% of the course (training days in person, or sessions online) and complete the course activities. The certificate records attendance and completion. It is not a professional certification and does not confer laboratory accreditation. If you need CPD points, check with your professional body whether a course qualifies.

Live online sessions

Online cohorts run on Zoom. You need a stable internet connection, a device with audio and a camera for practical exercises. Sessions are not normally recorded, and missed sessions are not refundable.

In-house training

Training delivered for a single laboratory or organisation is quoted separately, and the quotation and confirmation email set out the dates, fees and cancellation terms for that engagement.

Mentorship plans

  • Monthly plans are invoiced in advance. You can cancel at any time before your next month starts; the current month is not refunded.
  • Annual plans include two months free. You get a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of your first session; after that the annual fee is not refundable.
  • Sessions are scheduled by agreement with your mentor. A session can be rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice; sessions do not carry over to later months.
  • Mentorship supports your development. It is not consulting, does not include documents written for your laboratory and does not lead to certification or accreditation.

Course materials

Course materials are for the personal use of registered participants. Please do not record sessions or share the materials outside your organisation without our written permission.

Liability and governing law

Our total liability for any claim relating to a course or mentorship plan is limited to the fees you paid for it. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
